What a cracker of a Merseyside derby!

Everton and Liverpool played out a thrilling merseyside derby with the score 3-3. Phillipe Coutinho opened the scoring for Liverpool which was immediately cancelled out by Kevin Mirallas. Then the League's leading scorer Luis Suarez struck a peach of a free kick to give the Reds a slender lead. However, Everton had other ideas. In the second half, Romelu Lukaku scored the equalizer and then a header to put the Toffees in front.

Daniel Strurridge came on as a substitute and scored the third goal for Liverpool which resulted in an entertaining draw. The result moves Everton up to 5th position but still 4 points behind League leaders Arsenal while Liverpool move up to touching distance just 1 point behind Arsenal, who face Southampton in the Emirates stadium.
